Users of social networking site LinkedIn are the latest to be targeted by fraudsters who have been sending out targeted phishing emails.
The emails are entitled ‘LinkedIn Reminders’ and are being sent to those who have an account with the social network.
In the email recipients are asked to click on a link to ‘visit your InBox now’ (sic) and to ‘adjust your message settings’.
The email comes from the address reminders@assassins-linkedin.com - not a legitimate LinkedIn email address.
What should you do if you’ve received a LinkedIn a phishing email?
• Do not click on any links in the scam email.
• Do not reply to the email or contact the senders in any way.
• If you have clicked on a link in the email, do not supply any information on the website that may open.
• Do not open any attachments that arrive with the email.
