The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has issued updated advice for customers who may have purchased Olympic Games tickets from “Euroteam”.
With the Olympic Games now underway, there is potential for disappointment for fans that have purchased tickets from the following companies – Euroteam AS, Uncus AS, and Ticket and Travel AS.
These companies were investigated by the OFT, working with the Metropolitan Police Service’s ‘Operation Podium’ and the Serious and Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), over initial concerns that they were not authorised to sell Olympic tickets. Investigations then uncovered that the companies had not sourced enough tickets to be able to supply to everyone that had made purchases through their websites.
Many fans will not now receive their tickets, and those that do receive tickets may be refused entry to the event as the tickets supplied are not valid.
People who are refused entry should ensure that they retain their tickets, or get a receipt from the Games Organisers if their ticket is seized, indicating that the customer was unable to gain entry. They should send a copy of their void ticket or the receipt to the company and apply for a refund.
Jason Freeman, Legal Director in the OFT’s Goods and Consumer Group said:
“Only authorised sellers can guarantee to supply you a ticket, and if you buy from someone else, even if your ticket arrives, you may be refused entry to the Games”
Customers that may have purchased tickets from these companies should contact them at Evolve, Martin Linges vei 25, 1364 Fornebu, Oslo, Norway. The email address is: contact@euroteam.net
