Sport fans are being reminded to watch out for bogus ticket websites after five people were arrested in connection with a Beijing Olympic ticket scam. Double gold medallist Rebecca Adlington’s parents were among the victims.
The Serious Fraud Office made the arrests following an investigation into a company called Xclusive Tickets.
As well as Beijing Olympic tickets, the company failed to deliver tickets to events including the Reading Festival and the V Festival. The Adlingtons paid more than £1,000 for tickets to the Beijing Olympic Games that never arrived.
